Kinetico Quality Water Gives Phoenix Children's Hospital a Helping Hand

October 30, 2007, Phoenix, Arizona. Kinetico Quality Water has partnered with Phoenix Children's Hospital to help children in need. New customers can give their family the healthy water they deserve, and a portion of their sale will be donated to the hospital in honor of two employees' daughter.

Jason and Jennifer Swick, Kinetico employees, spent endless hours at Phoenix Children's Hospital when their daughter Cassidy was diagnosed with brain cancer. At 6 years old, her parents worried about her spending so much time in a hospital environment, but she thrived at Phoenix Children's. She attended school on-site, visited the playground, played in the playrooms until the doors were locked, and participated in the weekly art program. Less fun were the painful pokes and prods, but Cassidy tolerated them in the brightly colored treatment rooms knowing there would be a treasure box prize in the end!

Jason and Jennifer were thankful for the emotional support from social workers and child life specialists, including help explaining Cassidy's medical situation to their other children. Many days were spent in the Emily Center, researching cancer and brain tumors. Other small things made the visits bearable, such as cafeteria food that actually tasted good, a family lounge with a kitchen, and fold-out beds in each room.

When Cassidy wasn't in the hospital, she was an out-patient in Phoenix Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, the largest provider of pediatric hematology and oncology services in Arizona. Through the Center's care, Cassidy survived 5 months past the day doctors pronounced she only had a few days to live. She passed away last summer. This charity campaign is in her memory.
